A look at what the Agent of the Nine is selling this week.

Happy Cinco De Mayo, Guardians!

Welcome back to “Xur’s Wares.” In this weekly series I take a look at what he’s selling and give you my opinion about it.

This week you can find Xur in the Tower, downstairs near the Vanguard. He’s selling: Twilight Garrison, Don’t Touch Me, Voidfang Vestments, and MIDA Multi-Tool. For the Weapons Bundles he has Monte Carlo & Royal Flush, and Zhalo Supercell & Shock Hazard.. As usual, he’s got a non-rotating stock of curios, heavy ammo, exotic shards, glass needles and the like. Find out more about them here. Okay, this is a fantastic week with several “must have” items, so let’s get into it!

Twilight Garrison

In the beginning Warlocks got Blink. Hunters got Blink and Shade Step. But Titans got… um, nothing. But that was until the Twilight Garrison Chest Piece. With it, double tapping the circle button will give you a mid-air dodge, meaning you can juke left, right, forward or backward. This can be super useful in both PVP and PVP. In PVP it’s pretty straight forward: use it to get around corners, and evade when in danger or your health is low.

I’ve found it really helpful in PVE to avoid large attacks from bosses. For instance, the Goliath Tank and Valus Mau’ual in the Shield Brothers Strike. The Tank will power up and shoot at your location, so you can burst to the side just before it fires. When fighting Valus Mau’ual, he will try and slam you into bits. Even if you jump backwards, this attack can still hit you, but if you juke to the side as he slams you can avoid it. Highly recommend picking this up.

Don’t Touch Me

These Hunter Gloves are the jam. Their exotic perk makes it so that when take damage from a Melee attack, you go Invisible. This can be incredibly helpful when you’re overrun with ads as it gives you a minute to get out of danger and let your health regenerate. If you adjust your Bladedancer perk tree so that Blink makes you Invisible, crouching makes you Invisible, and select Shadow Jack, you can remain unseen for long periods of time. This is a solid technique for soloing the Abyss in the Crota’s End Raid. Or for speed running through any encounter, really. Another piece you should absolutely add to your collection.

Voidfang Vestments

A Chest Piece for Warlocks, I’ve found this to be a really useful exotic for PVP when running Voidwalker. The exotic perk “Spawn with full grenade energy and your Axion Bolt grenade spawns an additional seeker” can be a major boon for the Crucible. Having an extra seeker can make the difference between damaging or dispatching an enemy. In fact, this Chest Armor is a good choice for a PVP build when running Sunsinger or Stormcaller as well. You don’t get the extra seeker, but you do get a Grenade when you spawn, which is pretty rad.

MIDA Multi-Tool

This Scout Rifle is a must-have. It allows for Radar to be active when aiming-down-sight, it shoots fast, it hits hard, it is reasonably stable and it has a maxed out reload. Not only that, but it gives +2 Agility. I will equip for this for jumping puzzles in the Raid, for running the Spark when playing Rift or for when I solo the Abyss with my Don’t Touch Me Gauntlets. And if all that wasn’t enough for you, it also has an awesome sound. It’s like the Stapler of Death and it deals serious damage in both PVP and PVE. No matter what game type you prefer, there’s a place for this weapon in your arsenal. Throw down those strange coins and get this immediately.

Monte Carlo & Royal Flush

This Auto Rifle is almost a laser. The gun has almost no recoil, which makes it a good choice for mid-range PVP encounters. It also can be very effective in PVE with its Exotic perk "Dealing damage with this weapon reduces your melee cooldown and grants a chance to fully charge your melee ability with each kill.” This makes it especially great when the Brawler modifier is active. Consider pairing it with a double Melee Exotic armor piece like the Insurmountable Skullfort or Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. Here’s an image of what the Royal Flush Ornament looks like on the gun.

Zhalo Supercell & Shock Hazard

One of my favorite guns in the game, this Auto Rifle is a must for Arc Burn Nightfalls and Heroic Strikes. It’s not the best for bosses, but for adds it is tops, because it has the ability to chain arc damage and kills automatically return some ammo to the magazine. This means you can take out entire waves of Thralls or Dregs without having to stop to reload. It also has Persistence, which means the gun gets more accurate the longer it is fired, which is ery useful. See what the Shock Hazard Ornament looks like here

Well, that’s it for this week! Per normal, these pieces of armor can be had for 13 strange coins while the gun will set you back 23 coins. The Weapons Bundles each cost 30 Strange Coins & 25 Silver Dust. Happy hunting, Guardians!
