The weeklong Crimson Days celebration in Destiny 2 begins today, February 13, and this year Bungie is bringing the love with a special partner-based 2v2 Crucible match type, guaranteed Crimson Days rewards for completing activities that require cooperation and team play, and a throwback for fans of the original Destiny.

The Burning Shrine, a Crucible map from Destiny 1 set on Mercury, returns to Destiny 2 via an updated version called The Burnout. This map is also set on Mercury but in a dark future where the Vex’s plans have come to fruition. The Burnout will debut in Destiny 2 during the Crimson Days celebration.

Also coming to Destiny 2 as part of Crimson Days is a special 2v2 Clash playlist in the Crucible that rewards the closeness of friendship. Stay tight with your partner and your abilities will recharge more quickly. Try to run the map solo and the other team will see your location via a waypoint. Play nice and share your space if you want to win.

During the Crimson Days celebration, anytime a character levels up past the level cap (level 20 for players without Destiny 2 Expansion I: Curse of Osiris, level 25 for players that do own the expansion) they will receive an Illuminated Engram and a Crimson Engram.

Crimson Days-themed rewards from Crimson Engrams will not repeat until you’ve earned all the new gear once, which is great news for collectors! If you use Bright Dust to purchase any Crimson Days rewards, those purchased rewards will also not repeat from Crimson Engrams until you’ve earned all the new gear once.

Completing certain activities during Crimson Days will earn players guaranteed rewards, and completing five Crimson Days Crucible matches will earn players an emblem and Ghost shell. Beating the Nightfall Strike will earn Guardians the new “Flaunting Dance” emote, and any Destiny 2 players that finish the Leviathan Raid or Eater of Worlds Raid Lair will earn an ornament for the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher.

Finally, if Guardians want a chance to earn the Undeterred Exotic Sparrow during the Crimson Days celebration, all they have to do is complete matches in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist. Crimson Days will end at 9 am Pacific Time on Tuesday, February 20, so get in there and spread the love!
