After a ton of stress testing last weekend with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta, we’re diving back in this weekend with even more players. Infinity Ward wanted to maximize the matchmaking and multiplayer data they could take into launch, so the Beta is now open to everyone on the PlayStation 4 and to players who have pre-ordered on the Xbox One as well. Get online and let us know what you think!
Additionally, Infinity Ward is adding a bunch of new content to ratchet the action up even higher. They will be keeping a few surprises up their sleeves to drop throughout the weekend, so make sure you play now through Monday at 10am PDT (5pm GMT) to get the full experience.
We can shed some light on one of those surprises. Anyone who plays the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta will receive an animated calling card in their inventory when the game launches. Take a look:
Here’s a look at some of the new Maps, Rigs, Modes and more that you can find in the Beta this weekend.
MAPS
In addition to Frontier, Frost, Throwback and Precinct, this weekend will also allow players to get their hands on a classic, reimagined map, Terminal.
- TERMINAL This circular, cross-lane, medium paced map features a dynamic range of combat areas set both in and around a futuristic spaceport on the Moon, and really looks spectacular.
COMBAT RIGS
All of the Combat Rigs are available this weekend, and here’s a quick look at the rigs you can unlock at higher ranks:
FTL Utilizes cutting-edge stealth military technology to gain a tactical advantage in combat. Gets you up close and personal.
- Payloads

- Rearguard Spawn with a back shield that protects against attacks from behind. While the shield is active, melee attacks from anywhere but the front are negated.
- Heightened Senses While in ADS with sniper rifles, gain increased audio from nearby enemies. Warning blips will also tell you if enemies are nearby.
Please note that Payloads and Traits are unlocked via progression and therefore not all may be available during the Beta.
MODES
Last weekend players were able to jump into fan favorite game modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, along with the new Defender mode and the surprise addition of Gun Game. This weekend, Infinity Ward is introducing another brand-new mode.
- FRONTLINE You always spawn at your base. Use teamwork to eliminate players on the opposing team. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
“In Frontline, we wanted to re-create the classic TDM mode into a controlled, head to head experience,” said David Mickner, MP Designer. “You’ll want to push up and take map control, but be careful of pushing too far towards the enemy base, as they will have spawn protection for a limited time while inside their base. When you spawn in, you’ll have some time to breath and plan your next course of action, but be careful of waiting too long, and letting the enemy team establish a frontline near your base.”
BY THE NUMBERS
We wanted to share some fun stats with you from the first Beta weekend, and we expect these numbers to skyrocket even further this weekend.
- CRAFTING: Nearly 1.8 million weapons were crafted. Save up that Salvage and create your dream weapon! It’s worth noting that you can get Salvage from supply drops, from completing the Mission Team objectives you have highlighted before a match begins, and any duplicate items you may receive which will be automatically burned and converted into Salvage.
- NUKES: 1,407 nukes were activated in the first Beta, rewarding players who have equipped a weapon with the Nuclear perk and accomplished a 25 player killstreak.
- WEAPON OF CHOICE: The NV4 full-auto ballistic rifle was far and away the leading weapon in the first Beta, stacking up a whopping kill count of 77,308,511.
What Rig and loadout will you choose? Jump into the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta right now and find out! See you on the field, soldier!
