With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Sledgehammer Games is introducing sweeping changes to Call of Duty multiplayer, including new mobility mechanics, an extensive character customization system, and the Supply Drop loot system. However, longtime fans of the franchise will also recognize a few familiar game modes and multiplayer maps. In addition to the return of Hardpoint and Atlas Gorge — the next-gen reimagining of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's Pipeline — Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also include the classic game mode War from Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War, now known as Momentum.

Momentum is an objective-based mode where two teams fight for control of sequential capture points. Teams must battle to capture one flag at a time and push toward controlling all flags. The result is a tug of war-like gametype where teamwork is key and control is often contested.

IGN has a detailed look at Momentum with guided commentary from Sledgehammer Games lead multiplayer designer, Greg Reisdorf. Check out the video above and be sure to follow @CallofDuty and @SHGames on Twitter.
