If you can’t join us in person, don’t worry! We’ll have plenty of coverage across Activision’s social channels and right here on the Activision Games Blog.

Here’s a rundown of everything Activision has going on at Gamescom 2017:

CALL OF DUTY: WWII

Call of Duty returns to its roots with Call of Duty: WWII — an epic, gritty experience that redefines World War II for a new gaming generation.

In Call of Duty: WWII, developed by Sledgehammer Games, players will battle across Europe in history’s deadliest war.  Experience iconic Call of Duty gameplay, the bonds of camaraderie, and the brutality of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny.

At Gamescom, players will get early hands-on time with the Private Multiplayer Beta before it launches globally on August 25. Prepare for fast-paced, grounded action with an arsenal of iconic weapons and equipment across many of World War II’s most iconic locations. Fans will be able to play new multiplayer maps and modes at the Sony PlayStation Booth in Hall 7.

Visitors to the show will also get to experience Operation Breakout in the new War Mode, developed in partnership with Raven Software. War Mode is an all-new Call of Duty mode, that immerses players in iconic World War II battles, where Allied and Axis forces clash in team-driven gameplay as they fight for strategic objectives where players must work as a team to defeat the enemy.

Fans unable to attend Gamescom can still be one of the first to get hands on with the Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer by pre-ordering the game at a participating retailer and reserving their place in the Private Multiplayer Beta* now.

DESTINY 2

Destiny 2 is the sequel to the internationally acclaimed Destiny, a first-person action game that takes the player on an epic journey to defend humanity from annihilation. In the story of Destiny 2, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lay in ruins, occupied by a powerful new enemy Dominus Ghaul and his elite army, the Red Legion.

Hot on the heels of July’s Open Beta, Bungie brings Destiny 2 to Gamescom, just ahead of the launch for the much-anticipated sequel, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, and to PC on October 24.

Players will have the chance to put their PVP skills to the test in the multiplayer mode Control, at the Sony PlayStation Booth. The fan-favorite Control mode returns in Destiny 2. Visitors to to Gamescom will have the opportunity to try out the newly-designed multiplayer mode for themselves. Each team will fight to control three points, and capturing one no longer requires having to 'uncapture' it from the opposite team.

PC players can get their own hands-on experience with the opening story campaign mission, Homecoming, at the Destiny 2 PC Booth (Hall 8, Booth C30). In Homecoming, The Last City is attacked by a new enemy, the Cabal Red Legion. Alongside other Guardian leaders of the Vanguard, you must defend the Tower.  For players not at gamescom but eager to try out Destiny 2 on PC – the PC Beta will begin on August 28 with early access. The PC Beta will be open to all on August 29.

Destiny 2 is available for preorder now and features the new Exotic Rifle, ‘Coldheart’ as a preorder bonus.

CRASH BANDICOOT N.SANE TRILOGY

One of the most famous game characters in history - Crash Bandicoot - is back, and fans old and new have the chance to go hands-on with the remastered Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, which will be playable at Gamescom in the Family and Friends area (Hall 10.2).

Launched on June 30, Crash’s return to the video game arena has seen the remastered title hit number one in physical game sales around the world. And Sony announced it was the most downloaded game on the PlayStation Store in July. Featuring stunning HD graphics, courtesy of the team at Vicarious Visions, fans can play as Crash or his sister Coco in all three games in the trilogy – Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

Visitors to the show will be able to explore the 100+ levels, including Stormy Ascent, the infamous unfinished level from the original game which was released on July 20 and is now playable for the very first time. The Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy is available now, and the new level Stormy Ascent is available as a free download via the PlayStation Store until August 19.
