Lush rolling hills and towering skyscrapers. A sprawling highway network and a remote go kart track. Intricate marketplaces and quiet suburbs. A gorgeous Dam and a monstrosity of an Art Museum.
All of this, and more, are for you to explore in Verdansk, the home of Warzone.
The region of Verdansk is comprised of five distinct sectors that we broke down by general location within the region:
Verdansk North Sector: In the northern tundra and foothills, you’ll find the Gora Dam, the Arklov Peak Military Base, and multiple neighborhoods including Blocs 16, 17, 23, and Riverside. To the northeast is Karst River Quarry, a Crash Site, the road and small settlement of Lozoff Pass, Blocs 14 and 15 that sit south of the quarry, and a WHP Camp.
Verdansk Southwest Sector: This covers the entirety of the southwestern part of the map, beginning towards the center. Explore the Verdansk Hospital, Train Station, Barakett Promenade West and Barakett Promenade East, as well as the Kart Racing Track, Zozsni Spomenik, and Novi Grazna Hills along the coast.
Verdansk Central and South Sector: This sector begins at the Grazna Bridge and BCH4 TV Station, moving to Bloc 6 and Verdansk Stadium along with the Great Bridge, the massive Downtown Tavorsk District, Tavorsk Bridge and Gora Bridge, as well as the Tavorsk Park and Styor Spomenik monument.
Verdansk East Sector: The entire eastern part of Verdansk, which is more rural in nature, starts in the north with Bloc 18 and Karst Bridge, and moving south through the Gorengard Lumber Yard, Krovnik Farmland, City of Verdansk Port, and finally the infamous Zordaya Prison Complex.
While Verdansk is massive, it isn’t overwhelming when broken down into its component areas. Across Verdansk, there can be combat that takes place across locations with open space, interiors, and verticality, as well as urban, suburban, industrial, commercial and rural locations.
Whether you need a place to land or are forced to play around your environment during a firefight, there are a few strategies that can apply to general locations, no matter what they are named, that can aid in your survival.
Here are five quick tips that cover most of the general areas you’ll be fighting in and around:
1. Out in the Open? Move or Die. Whether it’s a massive crop field or airport runway, staying out in the open may leave you exposed like a sitting duck. If there is any cover nearby in a generally wide-open area, it’s best to take it as you move to a safer locale.
2. Rural Risks and Rewards. Areas that are more natural or lack structures typically are less trafficked, as there are less opportunities to gather loot and supplies. Consider dropping in over a non-named, nondescript area if your team wants to have a quiet early game, or gather up loot that may have gone completely overlooked.
3. Urban Warfare. On top of Downtown Tavorsk District, the Barakett Promenade and other dense areas may attract plenty of squads looking to loot every tower, home, and public restroom. When travelling through these areas in the middle of a match, be on guard; check rooftops and windows in tall buildings for snipers and check those corners for proximity-based explosives.
4. Challenging Enemies on the High Ground. Need to defend yourself against an enemy on top of a tall tower or building? Run straight towards them; it’ll be hard for them to land shots when you are directly before them. Alternatively, a well-placed JOKR launcher shot can deal death from above and smoke out that pesky sniper.
5. Breach and Clear. When entering an indoor location – which most often hold Supply Boxes – it’s often best to switch to a weapon meant for close-quarters engagements, such as a shotgun, SMG, or pistol. In other words, you won’t need a 12x scope to see an enemy player across a room.
