Guitar Hero Live is all about variety. If you want to channel your inner rock god and perform for audiences of hundreds or even thousands, there’s GH Live and its dynamic, live-action bands and crowds. Or, maybe you’d prefer to discover some new music or play along to your favorite music video? GHTV has you covered. Best of all, both modes can be a shared experience—whether you’re playing with friends online or together in the same room.
This week at Gamescom, we’re also introducing a new way for friends to join in: vocals. That’s right, in addition to being able to connect a second guitar controller for local competitive or cooperative play, Guitar Hero Live will also support singing.
By simply plugging in a USB microphone, vocalists can accompany their friends playing with guitar controllers across both GHTV and GH Live via Quickplay. When a microphone is connected, a song’s lyrics and trackable pitch will appear above the guitar note highway. Vocalists can sing along and earn their own unique score, separate from friends playing guitar.
Alongside the announcement of vocals in Guitar Hero Live, this week at Gamescom we also took a closer look at the GH Live experience, including a detailed rundown of the in-game music festivals and types of bands you’ll become a part of. What’s more, we’ve announced 16 new songs coming to Guitar Hero Live, bringing the total number of tracks revealed to-date to 100 with more to come.
