Activision Blizzard Named One Of Fortune’s Best Companies To Work For

From impromptu raids to designing Eruptor’s lava attack—employees share why they love working at Activision Blizzard.

I’ve had an opportunity to meet and work with people across a variety of groups and disciplines here at Activision. While I’ve found that many of us come from different industries or roles, there’s a unifying passion for games that, in some cases, rivals even our most devout fans. Many nights, it’s not uncommon to find people closing out their day with a round of Advanced Warfare, scouring Skylands for treasure, or managers and their teams running a raid in Destiny together.

Like any company, it’s the people that create Activision’s identity and culture, and clearly, people here know how to have fun. It seemed only fitting to me then, to learn that this week Fortune recognized Activision Blizzard as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. But beyond my own personal experiences and observations, I wanted to learn more about what people like most about working here, so I decided to ask around.

“I get to come to the office every day, and work with a tremendous team of talented people who can have serious, in-depth discussions about the attack speed, damage rate, and guttural sound effect tied to a creature barfing lava.” – Lou Studdert, Production Coordinator, Skylanders

“I love video games and to see how much effort goes into the development, it makes you want to work even harder to make sure you do the devs justice” – Eric Folliot, Product Marketing, Call of Duty

“It really is all about the games. We’re fortunate in that we get to work on games that we all love to play.– Britain Taylor, Social Media Specialist

"I’d like to offer a congratulatory BOOM! and two macho thumbs up to Activision for being voted such an AWESOME place to work.  But you know, one can’t help but to ask… can it be greater?  I mean, sure… they have yummy Bagel Mondays and delicious Donut Fridays.  But what about Enchilada Tuesdays and Churro O’Clock Lunchtime?  I’m just saying."Captain Flynn (best pilot in all of Skylands)

"People I meet often ask if play the games I work on. Considering I leave my Level 31 Titan dancing in the Tower during meetings, the answer is an emphatic ‘yes.’ I may not be an artist or designer but I love these games, and that inspires me to be creative in how I help bring them to the world."– Walker Adamson, Digital Publicist, Destiny
