Call of Duty Named Best Ever Video Game Series By Guinness World Records

Readers from over 140 countries ranked Call of Duty number one.

Earlier this year, Guinness World Records asked readers from over 140 countries to cast their vote for best ever video game series and Call of Duty took the number one spot. Based upon a poll of over 5,000 readers, Guinness World Records ranked the 50 greatest game series of all time and featured the list in its 2015 Gamer's Edition book released earlier this month.

To-date, Call of Duty also retains Guinness World Records' recognition as the best-selling first-person shooter of all time, as well as the record for the most BAFTA-nominations of any game series. The 2015 Gamer's Edition provides a deeper look at a variety of other records held by or associated with Call of Duty, including longest video game marathon and fastest time in Capture the Flag while blindfolded.

Last week, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launched worldwide to acclaim from fans and critics — check out what reviewers had to say in our Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Review Roundup.
