Looking Back at Gamescom 2018!

Gamescom 2018 was a fantastic experience! Fans turned out in huge numbers to get hands-on action with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Destiny 2: Forsaken, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy!

A record-breaking 370,000 visitors (!) attended Gamescom in Cologne, Germany last week, visiting the show from across Europe and beyond to see the latest and greatest that the video game industry has to offer. Activision was excited to welcome visitors from all over as they turned up to go hands-on with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Destiny 2: Forsaken, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Below are some of the highlights from our events at the show!

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 4

It was a very busy week for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fans, particularly those who are interested in the PC version of the title. First, we debuted a brand-new PC focused trailer that goes behind the scenes at both Treyarch and Beenox and gives a hint at what PC players can expect when the game launches on October 12. Watch it here in gorgeous 4K to boot!

We also interviewed Treyarch’s Jonathan Moses and Beenox’s Philippe Troie about the PC version, which took us even further into the development process, hinting at the amount of customization coming to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 experience. Fully customizable controls and ultra-widescreen monitors? Yes, please.

And we got our hands on the brand-new Multiplayer map Arsenal, which was shown at Gamescom for the first time. Take a look here as we spin through this cutting-edge weapons facility in a close-fought game of Hardpoint.

DESTINY 2: FORSAKEN

Just two weeks ahead of its launch on September 4, Destiny 2: Forsaken showed up at Gamescom in full force. First, Gambit was playable on the show floor for the first time in Europe, and players waited through long lines to get a closeup look at this brand-new, hybrid game mode. Check out some of our gameplay right here.

Next up, Bungie and Activision dropped the Last Stand of a Gunslinger on everyone via a livestream from the Blizzard stage and… we’re still wiping away the tears. This epic trailer, created with the help of Blur Studio, set the stage for players heading into Forsaken who are ready for some retribution.

We

We spoke to Bungie’s David “DeeJ” Dague as he and the Destiny team say goodbye to Cayde-6. He also shed some light on Forsaken, the new Scorn enemy, new exotics, and what players can expect when the game launches.

SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE
