This weekend’s COD World League Stage 2 finals set the pace for an intense competition for the 2016 Call of Duty Championship in September, as Team Envyus clinched the North American title, while Mindfreak took Australia/New Zealand, and Millenium claimed the European Pro Division titles. These talented pro teams will move onto the highly-anticipated Call of Duty XP to play for their share of the biggest overall year-long prize pool in Call of Duty history of over $3.5 million.
The dramatic conclusion to the action-packed weekend started off with two massive upsets, as top seeded Optic Gaming and Faze were both knocked out in the first round by Luminosity and Dream Team, respectively. Dream Team went on to beat Luminosity in the semifinal match, clinching the win to ultimately face Envyus in the final round. Envyus took the win 4-1 against Dream Team, solidifying their top seed position heading in to Call of Duty XP.
