Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Beta Now Open for All on PS4

Plus, Treyarch introduces new map, mode, and level cap increase.

On Tuesday evening, Treyarch and Activision kicked off the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta on PS4 for a limited set of players, including those that preordered the game on PS4. Now, as we head into the weekend, we’re opening the doors for everyone to get their hands on the Black Ops 3 multiplayer experience. That’s right, starting now and until the beta’s conclusion for PS4 on Sunday, August 23, anyone 17 or older can download the beta via the PSN—no token required.

What’s more, earlier today Treyarch introduced a new map to the multiplayer beta: Stronghold, an asymmetrical map with exposed sightlines and tight, close quarters pathways set in a high-tech chateau in the Swiss Alps. Also added was a new game mode, Uplink, which tasks players with carrying a satellite into the enemy team’s goal. Lastly, the level cap in the beta has been increased to Major (level 34), allowing players to rank up and unlock new gear, as well as the new Specialist: Reaper. Learn more about Reaper by checking out our overview of all eight Specialists available in the beta.
