Skylanders SuperChargers Nintendo SuperCharged Combo Packs Now Available

Last year, we made Skylanders history by teaming up with Nintendo to bring Donkey Kong and Bowser to Skylanders SuperChargers as guest stars. With their own special attacks and custom-designed vehicles, Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser give fans a chance to explore Skylands and take part in high-speed races as two of Nintendo’s most iconic characters. Today, we’re excited to announce that fans can now complete their collection with two all-new standalone Nintendo SuperCharged Combo Packs for Nintendo Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.

Each pack comes with one of the two Nintendo characters and their signature vehicle, including Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his land vehicle, the Barrel Blaster or Hammer Slam Bowser and his Clown Cruiser sky vehicle. In addition to being fully playable in Skylanders SuperChargers for Nintendo Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS, Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser can also be used with select amiibo-compatible games. Just toggle between Skylanders and amiibo modes by turning the base of each character!

The Skylanders SuperChargers Nintendo SuperCharged Combo Packs are available now with an MSRP of $24.99. For more information on Skylander SuperChargers, stay tuned to the Activision Games Blog, by following @SkylandersGame and @Activision on Twitter, and by finding Skylanders on Facebook.

I'm angered by this turn of events.  When Superchargers first came out, we were told that, to avoid confusion, the Donkey Kong and Bowser figures would only be available in the starter packs.  I, like many other people, bought multiple starter packs to collect these figures for my son.  I only count myself fortunate in the fact that I bought them during the holiday sales so that didn't get fleeced as badly as I could have.  The reason I'm angry is that it feels like we were given false information for the purpose of bolstering holiday sales.  Buying the additional packs cost me an additional $30 when compared to the price these combo packs.  That's a lot of money.  I don't have a lot of disposable income so I think that you should count yourselves lucky that I choose to spend it on your product.  $30 is a big deal in my household.  I have to plan the best way to purchase your product, and, this time, I feel that I was taken advantage of.  My son loves your product and I enjoy collecting these figures with him, and the only thing I really ask from a company is that you don't take actions that make me feel like a fool.  The fact that these packs have come out despite the information we were given beforehand make me feel foolish for supporting your company.
