These Titan Gauntlets have the exotic perk "taking damage from a melee deals damage around you." So do you plan on getting punched a lot? I’m looking at you Crota’s End Abyss. If so, this could be the armor piece for you. They could also be a good option if you are trying for melee kills in Prison of Elders, but don’t want to run the Skullfort Helm. As a defensive armor piece, these probably aren’t the best choice for PVP as there are better offensive, and support choices.
A Hunter Helmet, this is specific for the Shadowshot class as it “Grants Shadestep.” This frees you up to run either the Keen Scout or Predator perks. Shadestep is crazy useful, it helps you evade, dodge, or move in quickly for a kill. This can be a boon in both PVP and PVE. One thing that’s particularly cool is that certain tracking “breaks” when you Shadestep. For example, the darts that Golgorath throws out — if you Shadestep when his eye is on you, the darts will “forget" about you. Predator is great for setting traps when using the Shadowshot as add control. Just shoot it into the ground and when bad guys get near, it will reach out and grab them. In PVP this same technique can be used to good effect with Quiver. Having three shots will let you set traps all around an objective. Highly recommend this helm!
Heart of the Praxic Fire
This Warlock Chest Armor has the perk “When Radiance is active, increased Agility and decreased ability cooldowns.” Specific to the Sunsinger class, this could be super useful if you don’t want to use the Sunbreakers Gauntlets. Personally, I find the longer lasting duration of Solar Grenades more useful in boss battles -- but this exotic might be a good option to attack adds. For the most part people use Radiance as a defensive mechanism, but with this chest piece I see it as being a really useful offensive option. Try pairing it with the Radiant Skin perk to reduce damage and wreck shop.
On an Arc Burn it’s tough choosing between Zhalo Supercell and this Machine Gun. Both chain damage, both have a big firing capacity, and both get more accurate the more you fire. My general thought is to use Zhalo for adds, then use Thunderlord for the boss battle. Its perk “this weapon fires faster and more accurately the longer the trigger is held” makes it a great option for prolonged DPS sessions. Definitely pick this one up.
Well, that’s it for this week! Per normal, these pieces of armor can be had for 13 Strange Coins while the gun will set you back 17. Happy shooting, Guardians!
