Destiny’s Crimson Days Event Begins February 9

Pair up with the Guardian closest to you in this new limited-time event.

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and what better way to celebrate with that special Guardian in your life than with a special limited-time event in Destiny? Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9, Bungie is kicking off Crimson Days, a weeklong event that introduces an all-new Crucible mode, quest and bounties, loot, and a special collection of emotes that celebrates teamwork and companionship.

At the center of it all is Crimson Doubles, a new 2v2 elimination mode in the Crucible. Players will pair up and take on an opposing team of two. The first team to take five rounds will be crowned the victors. However, there’s a twist: if a player’s teammate falls, they’re given the power of Broken Heart, which grants them increased agility and recovery—ideal for swift vengeance. Players will be able to take advantage of the Broken Heart buff until they revive their fallen teammate, get downed themselves, or until the round ends. During Crimson Days, players can complete a new quest and bounties, and for their efforts, can earn a special emblem. Competing in Crimson Doubles also gives teams a chance to earn new shaders, Ghost shells, or weapon experience buffs called Crimson Candy.

But Crimson Days extends far beyond the fierce combat of the Crucible. From the moment players enter the Tower, they’ll find Destiny’s primary social hub has undergone a festive makeover, complete with rose petals, banners, and more.  Alongside the aesthetic changes, players will find the Eververse Trading Company has been restocked with a collection of new emotes, including Awkward and Strange Dances and partner emotes, like the Secret Greeting or Fist Bump.

Crimson Days kicks off tomorrow, February 9, and runs through February 16—so find a close friend or a certain someone and get ready for the Crucible.
