Destiny 2 Fans React to Gambit in Destiny 2: Forsaken at E3

Guardians from far and wide were able to get their hands on Gambit, the new activity in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and they’re loving it!

By James Mattone on June 19, 2018

On September 4, Destiny 2: Forsaken will provide Guardians with a wealth of new experiences, including a brand-new hybrid cooperative and competitive activity called Gambit. At E3, fans were able to experience Gambit as well as three of the nine new subclasses and some of the weapons that will come with the new expansion, including the all-new Bow.

Here’s what attendees had to say after playing Gambit for the first time:

“I loved it! It’s a great way to interact between PvP and PvE. I can recommend it and plan on getting it.” — Cory from Wingdale, New York

“Invading the enemy base is a rush! The complexity of the game mode - having to earn blockers before getting into PvP combat - is pretty interesting. I hid amongst the blockers and was there shooting right back at them. It was like teamwork between AI and PvP.” — Michael from Charlotte, North Carolina

“I liked that I didn’t have to just fight one-on-one and we’re faced with the same challenge and can strategize around it.” — Linda from Boston, Massachusetts

“I liked it! It blended the PvP and PvE side really well. The flexibility of the weapon system lets you work with your team really well and how you play it.” — Aaron from Los Angeles, California

“The combination of having to kill enemies and dealing with the enemy team... I liked all of that a lot!” — Steven from Los Angeles, California

“I liked how it incorporated PvP and PvE. Using the bow against the AI and other Guardians was cool.” — Amanda from San Pedro, California

“It was really fun. It was an adrenaline rush and a good mix between PvE and PvP... I like the fact that it’s waves and waves of enemies and how fast it is.” — Jose from Los Angeles, California

“Being able to invade the enemy base was fun. I’m a fan of PvE more than PvP, but being able to do that while being part of a team was great.” — Aaron Decatur, Indiana

“I liked the combination of PvE and PvP. It was a lot of fun going in and taking down enemy players.” — Brett from Omaha, Nebraska

“I like the controlled PvP aspect. You’re getting a touch of it and experiencing the risk of playing PvP while still playing PvE.” — Kevin from Charlotte, North Carolina

“It’s a nice mix. If you’re not a PvP player, you can just focus on banking motes... The fact that you can come back after falling behind was really great.” — Jeff from Torrance, California

“The invading aspect was awesome, especially when deaths actually healed the Primeval and allowed the other team to catch up.” — John from Denver, Colorado

“The game mode is very, very fun! What I liked most is going through the portal and the people not knowing where I was, so I popped my super and slowed them down. Communication is important, because if you don’t have it, you don’t know where anyone is or when to bank your Motes.” — Jamil from Atlanta, Georgia

“It’s a lot of fun. Killing onslaughts of enemies to send your own AI is fun. I will definitely play it again and again.” — Chris from Anaheim, California
