Get ready to return to one of the most important destinations in the Destiny universe, where Guardians will find a city literally built to challenge the most powerful defenders of humanity.

Forsaken, the first major expansion to Destiny 2, will be released on September 4, 2018. Guardians will return to the Reef, the home of the Awoken, located at the edge of our solar system, to explore two brand-new locations. One of those locations, The Dreaming City, is built from the ground up to support endgame content and will also feature a brand-new raid.

Bungie has partnered with High Moon Studios, the studio behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, to create a new story for Destiny 2. The Reef has fallen to lawlessness and the Guardians of the Last City are sent to investigate the unrest. During their adventures on The Reef, players will discover new Super abilities and new gear.

There’s also an entirely new and exciting gameplay mode called Gambit. Gambit is a competitive, collaborative, and unpredictable 4v4 endgame activity that incorporates PvP and PvE elements. Guardians will get their first taste of the new Gambit mode at E3 in Los Angeles from June 12-14.

In addition to a new story, new locations, new gear, and the new Gambit mode, Forsaken will deliver a bevy of changes and quality-of-life improvements to Destiny 2, including a new weapon slot system, Random Rolls on weapons, and improvements to the mods system. These will become available to all players around the launch of Forsaken, regardless of whether they own the expansion.

Destiny 2: Forsaken will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, and on PC exclusively via Forsaken will be available individually for $39.99, as part of a Destiny 2 + Expansion Pass bundle for $69.99, and as part of a Destiny 2 – Digital Deluxe Edition featuring premium digital content for $79.99. Forsaken players on PlayStation will receive four timed exclusive items: a Strike, one gear set per class, a new jumpship, and an Exotic weapon. When Forsaken launches, all previous Destiny 2 exclusives will be released for all platforms.
