With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the team at Infinity Ward will place players into a universe where humanity’s colonization of the solar system has sparked a new war for power and resources. Alongside the signature style of cinematic moments and infantry-focused combat fans have come to expect, Infinite Warfare’s leap into a bold new setting will introduce new gameplay experiences unlike anything they’ve seen in Call of Duty before. Fans got a small taste with the world reveal trailer last month, but this week at E3, Infinity Ward is peeling back the curtain with the first extended look at gameplay from the campaign.
During PlayStation’s E3 press conference, attendees and fans watching from all over the globe got a first look at a Ship Assault mission from Infinite Warfare. In the fight against the Settlement Defense Front, players can choose to launch strategic attacks from the helm of the UNSA Retribution—a massive warship under their command. The Ship Assault footage takes players from the bridge of the Retribution to the cockpit of a Jackal fighter to boarding, fighting their way through, and escaping an enemy warship—all as part of one continuous gameplay loop.
But don’t just take our word for it; see it for yourself by watching the extended gameplay video above.
