Each year, we are reminded of the passion of the Call of Duty community. From the excitement we saw at reveal to the massive turnout for the multiplayer beta and at launch in November—2015 was an incredible year for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and the team at Treyarch. Thanks to the community’s continued support, Black Ops 3 was the top-selling game of 2015 worldwide. In North America in particular, this marks Call of Duty’s seventh year in a row as the top-selling franchise of the year, according to NPD. What’s more, Black Ops 3 has brought the total life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise to more than 250 million units.
However, Black Ops 3 was just the beginning. On February 2, Black Ops 3’s DLC season begins with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening*—an all-new map pack launching first on PlayStation 4. Awakening introduces the next chapter in Treyarch’s Zombies saga, Der Eisdenrache, as well as four new multiplayer maps: Gauntlet, Splash, Rise, and Skyjacked—a reimagining of the popular Black Ops 2 multiplayer map, Hijacked.
