Why Florida is OP

The Florida Mutineers roster consists of franchise veterans that will benefit from their combined knowledge of Call of Duty and having a player/coach in Atura.

Prestinni was a major part of the 2019 eUnited team that had a standout year, and he’ll be looking to continue that momentum with the Mutineers. Alongside Maux and Havok, the Mutineers have a chance to shock any team during Launch Weekend. Not enough credit is given to these three players, and together—if they can work as a unit—can make a show of leading the Mutineers this season.

Frosty and Skyz are both solid role players that have the opportunity to rise to the occasion and become real factors on the team. If both can accept the challenge as difference makers—or in other words, return to team of the week form—this squad shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Lastly, while MaNiac is a relative newcomer to Call of Duty, he has a long history within esports. He’s definitely considered a wildcard, but has the opportunity to make a name for himself in this franchise using his existing gaming skillset.

This Mutineer squad may not have the championship rings on their resume, but their combined potential and talent could be enough to make the other 11 CDL teams walk the plank.

Why London is OP

“Brothers in Arms” should be the literal slogan for the London Royal Ravens; not only is this team solely comprised of players from the United Kingdom and Ireland, but they are also led by literal twin brothers wuskin and Skrapz. This duo played on separate squads this past season, but the Royal Ravens should benefit from—and start believing in—twin ESP, as these two were solid during their 2017 season together.

The brothers are both highly skilled in their own right, as Skrapz is a deadly assault rifle player that is coming off of an all-star season, while wuskin holds his own as a former 2018 All-Star.

Although the twins may be a fundamental piece to the Royal Ravens puzzle, Dylan, Jurd, and Rated each bring high-caliber play to the table. Dylan (Henderson) had an all-star season last year, while Jurd and Rated have multiple years of success in the pro scene.

The only question that surrounds this cluster of talent across the pond is how they’ll play together. If support from Seany, a younger player with an amateur championship win, and MadCat, a veteran that’s flashed streaks of brilliance, can connect the team, there will be a real future for the Royal Ravens.

Of course, there is one X-factor that the Royal Ravens posses: the 6th Raven—their rabid fans. Call of Duty esport fans know how raucous crowds can be at events within the United Kingdom, making their homestand tournaments potential pitfalls for anyone who isn’t a Royal Raven.

If this team plays off the energy of that crowd—and if the 6th Raven travels well outside the country—then the streets of London could be filled with chants of “It’s coming home. It’s coming home. It’s coming. Call of Duty League is coming home!” come the fall.

Why Los Angeles is OP

The Guerrillas have a chance not just to take the city of Los Angeles, but also the entire Call of Duty League by storm.

They have the makings of real chemistry, which is an intangible skillset that allows teams to rise above the competition. Most of the players have been teamed up in the past in one way or another, and knowing your teammates and shorthand communication can go a long way in fast-paced matches.

In addition to chemistry, there isn’t a lack of talent on this squad with most having many seasons of pro Call of Duty under their belts. Solid play and a longstanding career can only bode well for the Guerrillas. ACHES has twice been named a World Champion in his career and captained many squads over the years. His leadership and COD IQ will be a source of strength for the team.

Plus, ACHES has proven to be OpTic Gaming’s kryptonite, spoiling many a championship run for them as their main villain.

Aside from ACHES, the squad boasts a starting roster of notable players including AquA, who placed in the top 4 in his first three Call of Duty Championships, and industry veterans Saints and Lacefield. Combined, the Guerrillas have over 30 years of experience playing in Call of Duty esports, making them one of the most veteran teams in the CDL.

Expect all those years of experience to culminate into something special, because this team might be OP enough to hoist up many a trophy in the years to come.
